Style 😋: Perfumed, juicy, and textural. Honeysuckle and candied orange on the nose lead into a palate of apricot, peach tea, and citrus peel. Soft tannins and moderate acidity keep things fresh and easy-drinking, with just enough grip to make it a standout skin-contact wine.
Grape 🍇: Muscat Canelli, Symphony, Sauvignon Blanc, Torrontés
Place 🌎: California, USA
Story 📖: Wonderwerk is the brainchild of Andrew Lardy and Issamu Kamide—two friends and natural wine devotees bringing a bold, creative lens to California winemaking. Working with organic vineyards and minimal intervention, they make vibrant, expressive wines that blur the lines between tradition and innovation, all with serious style.
Big Orange 2024 blends four aromatic white grapes, each de-stemmed and fermented separately with native yeasts and bacteria. After 1–2 weeks on skins with twice-daily punchdowns or pumpovers, the wines were aged five months in tank and neutral oak on fine lees. Lightly filtered with 30ppm SO₂ added at bottling, it’s a clean, bright orange wine bursting with citrusy lift and floral charm.
Pairing 🍽: Perfect with spicy shrimp tacos.
