Story: There really is only one “Son of Wine” in this operation, and his name is Farid Yahimi, who runs his natural winemaking operation out of facilities in Ammerschihr, in Alsace. Originallly from Nancy, and with an Algerian/Kabyle background, Yahimi’s transformational moment came in late 1999 with his discovery of natural wine, at which point he quite left behind the classic wines of Burgundy and Bordeaux. Today his range encompasses everything from a cross-European blend of Verdejo and Sylvaner to Pinot Gris barred-aged beneath the Mediterranean sea. His "Bisous Bisous" is an orange wine, a 60/40 blend of Gewurztraminer and Riesling left on the skins in whole clusters for five days before ageing in large barrels. Bottled unfiined and unfiltered, this is a highly aromatic wine with crisp fruit and refreshing acidity.
