Oriol Artigas 'La Rumbera' 2022 Catalonia, Spain

Regular price $30.97
Grape 🍇: 100% Pansa Blanca (the local name for Xarel·lo)
Style 😋: A vibrant and textured skin contact white. Zesty and saline with a core of ripe lemon, white peach, and a distinct note of wet granite. The brief maceration adds a subtle grip and complexity, evoking the wild herbs of the coastal garrigue, while the wine remains incredibly fresh, light on its feet, and finishes with a clean, stony persistence.
Details 📌: Sourced from 7 different plots of old vines on sandy granitic soils (sauló). Half the grapes were destemmed, crushed, and macerated on skins for 4 days; the other half were destemmed and macerated as whole clusters for 9 days. The wine was then fermented with native yeast and aged in stainless steel tanks without the addition of any sulfur.
Story 📖: Oriol Artigas is a quiet revolutionary in the Alella region, just north of Barcelona. After abandoning a path in chemistry for winemaking, he has dedicated himself to revitalizing old coastal vineyards threatened by urban expansion. His philosophy is one of minimal intervention, both in the vineyard and the cellar, allowing the unique Mediterranean terroir to speak for itself. 'La Rumbera' is a pure and convivial expression of his homeland, a vibrant wine made to be shared.
