"Sourced from a two-acre, backyard vineyard in Orient, Long Island, planted in the 90s - whole cluster maceration with punch downs, aged in neutral oak barrel. As with 2020, we have a serious Merlot here people: powerful, dark and brooding, not at all heavy, but certainly with some structure. This is really superb – there’s some graphite and pencil shavings, tones I’m more familiar with in Cabernet; followed by tart blueberries and plum skin, savory herbs and a peppery finish; this wine is worth a nice decant, drinking over a couple of days or laying down for a bit."
