Domaine Rougeot Mersault 'Sous la Velle' 2019

Pierre-Henri Rougeot has been making organic, low-intervention, low sulfur wines in and around Meursault since 2010, but his family’s domaine in the village dates back to the 19th century. All of the wines come from single parcels, are hand harvested, and fermented using indigenous yeasts. The Meursault ‘Sous la Velle’ is a 2.5ha parcel just south of the village, planted in the 1960s by Pierre-Henri’s grandfather. The wine spends 18 months in a mix of new and used oak barrels. It is vibrant and fresh, with tremendous depth and complexity. All done with almost no sulfur.
