Story: Elodie Balme grew up surrounded by her father's vines in Roaix, a lesser known village of the Southern Rhône. Initially uninterested in farming, she studied oenology and apprenticed with Marcel Richaud, one of the region’s most influential biodynamic growers, who became her mentor and friend. With his encouragement, Elodie launched her own domaine in 2006 at just 23 years old. Today, she and her father manage 25 hectares together, gradually converting everything to organics. Her wines balance the soul of old vine Grenache and Carignan with a fearless independence, carving out a place for Roaix alongside its more famous neighbors while showing that true greatness can come from vineyards once considered humble.
