Cirelli 'Orange' NV Abruzzo, Italy
Cirelli 'Orange' NV Abruzzo, Italy
Style 😋: Bright and salty with notes of tangerine peel, chamomile, white tea, and dried herbs. Light-bodied and zippy with a clean, slightly grippy finish—super gluggable skin-contact fun.
Producer: Francesco Cirelli
Grape 🍇: Trebbiano
Place 🌎: Abruzzo, Italy
Story 📖: Francesco Cirelli is a thoughtful farmer and winemaker working organically in the Teramo hills of Abruzzo. On just a few hectares of vines nestled near olive trees and fig groves, he produces a small range of natural wines, all guided by a minimal-intervention philosophy and a strong connection to his land.
The ‘Orange’ is made from young Trebbiano vines grown in calcium- and clay-rich soils. Grapes are destemmed and macerated on the skins for 30 days before a soft pressing into stainless steel, where the wine rests for 4 months. It’s bottled unfined, unfiltered, with just a touch of sulfur. A clean, refreshing expression of skin contact that balances structure with drinkability.
Pairing 🍽: Falafel wrap with pickled onions and lemony tahini sauce.
