Bonnet-Cotton Cote de Brouilly 'Les Grilles' 2022 Beaujolais, France

Style šŸ˜‹: Medium bodied and structured but fresh. Wild berries, violets, and crushed granite, with a juicy core and a savory, mineral spine. It’s energetic, layered, and perfectly balanced.Ā

Producer: Bonnet-Cotton (Pierre Cotton & Marine Bonnet)

Grape šŸ‡: 100% Gamay

Place šŸŒŽ: CĆ“te de Brouilly, Beaujolais, France

Story šŸ“–: Pierre Cotton grew up in Brouilly, but it wasn’t until he worked a harvest in the Loire that he decided to return home and take over the family domaine. Alongside his partner Marine Bonnet, he’s become one of Beaujolais’ most exciting young growers. Together, they farm organically, ferment with native yeasts, and work without sulfur until bottling—producing soulful, vibrant Gamay from the volcanic slopes of CĆ“te de Brouilly.

ā€˜Les Grilles’ comes from a single parcel on decomposed granite (grilles) that gives the wine its signature mineral tension. Whole-cluster fermentation in concrete, followed by aging in old barrels for finesse and depth. It’s structured yet super drinkable.

Pairing šŸ½: Lentil-miso soup with grilled shiitakes.
