Guillaume d’Angerville also owns and operates Marquis d’Angerville in Volnay. Pelican started in 2008 after he tasted a bottle of Arbois in a Paris restaurant and mistook it for an outstanding Burgundy. He began looking in Jura and ended up with 35 acres, including 10 from the retiring Jacques Puffeney, a legendary winemaker whose vineyards have never been touched.
