EnvĂnate 'Migan' 2021 Canary Islands, Spain

Regular price $33.97 Sale price$50.00
Grape 🍇: Listán Negro
Style 😋: Medium bodied with fine tannins and bright acidity. High toned and precise with smoky strawberry, pomegranate, pink peppercorn. Subtle reduction adds tension and complexity without overpowering the fruit.
Details 📌: Sourced from very old "cordón trenzado" vines over 100 years old planted between 350 and 600 meters in the Valle de la Orotava near La Perdoma, historically known as Migan. Fruit comes from multiple parcels on volcanic soils mixed with clay, sand, and basalt. Hand harvested and foot trodden. Fermented in concrete with partial whole cluster. Aged for about one year in neutral French oak, foudre, and concrete. Bottled without fining or filtration with a small addition of sulfur at bottling. Starting with the 2021 vintage, Migan is held back and released a year later to allow the wine to soften and fully express itself on arrival.
Story 📖: EnvĂnate translates loosely to wine yourself, a fitting name for a project built on curiosity, collaboration, and place. Founded in 2005 by four friends Roberto Santana, Alfonso Torrente, Laura Ramos, and JosĂ© MartĂnez while studying enology in Alicante, EnvĂnate began as a consulting group before evolving into one of Spain’s most exciting wine projects. Their focus is on Atlantic influenced regions like the Canary Islands and Ribeira Sacra, where old vines, elevation, and marginal conditions create wines of character and tension.
