Guiborat Extra Brut Champagne 'Prohibition' 
This Grower Champagne is 100% Pinot Meunier and based on the 2016 vintage. It was disgorged in March 2020 with zero dosage added. They chose to bottle this with 3 different labels. This is very much a small operation. The Forquet family has been growing grapes since the 1880s and started their domaine in 1890. The operation, now in its fifth generation, consists of Richard Fouquet and his wife Karine farming their 20 acres, of which 12 acres are under contract to Laurent Perrier. The family has been practicing organic for the last decade.
Le P'tit Paysan Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 San Benito County, California 
Ian Brand is a winemaker who's made a name for himself in California.  He makes some more expensive wines under his own label, but this should be a go-to.  It has 8% Petite Verdot to round it out a bit but at only 12.9% alcohol, this is a restrained, old world expression of Cabernet from a vineyard at the foot of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Aged for 11 months in neutral barrels. 666 cases produced.
Cirelli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2019 
Most Montepulciano from Abruzzo is thrown into oak, intensifying the already strong tannic structure that the grape has.  This one is thrown right into steel so it is a bit lighter and fresher than most.  It was recently featured in the NYT and though very small production, now has a decent following.  
Milan Nestarec 'Barvířka' 2018 
The most special of the Nestarec's.  Barvirka means Teinturier (the french term for the rare grape that has dark red juice, like Dornfelder and Alicante does - if you've had Envinate 'Albahra'). 100% carbonic fermentation  of Dornfelder blended with some mysterious white grapes. Zero sulfur added, unfined, unfiltered. Low tannin, lots of dark color, low alcohol, crushable. 
Aphros 'Ten' Loureiro 
Anyone who tastes this wine immediately falls in love with it.  I might divulge its secret during the second wine tasting.  They don't even use electricity to make some of the wines at this winery. It's freaking awesome.  
Tschida 'Engel auf Erden' 2019 
Engel auf Erden, which translates to “Angel on Earth” is riff on pink maceration.  Cabernet Franc on the skins for a short time. Grapes are hand harvested, destemmed, and crushed by foot. The juice ferments in large barrels with indigenous yeast and no racking. It is bottled without sulfur.
